Our Management Team
Shana Kolman, Director of Franchise Operations
Shana is a multi-disciplined healthcare professional and advocate for the aging that joined the Assisting Hands management team in 2007. While struggling through her own father’s illness in the last several years of his life, Shana clearly identified the need for better care in the community and as a result, discovered her calling. She has served the aging and disabled population during her career in Medicaid Finance, Skilled Nursing Administration, as a licensed Assisted Living Executive Director, and over the last 8 years, in Home Healthcare operations.
Shana’s 20 years of experience throughout the long-term care continuum leveraged her perfectly for her roll with Assisting Hands. Armed with a thorough understanding of the issues that face the aging population and a passion for easing the struggle for individuals and their families in relation to social, financial, and healthcare issues, Shana educates new and existing owners on the importance of delivering quality care, promoting dignity and respect, and fostering an environment of trust. Her in-depth knowledge of the regulatory requirements and provisions in relation to individual states, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and Joint Commission accreditation as it pertains to acute, skilled, assisted, and home health care operations has made her an astute guide and mentor for the Assisting Hands family of franchise owners.
Shana is responsible for the full spectrum of business operations start-up, licensing, training, and ongoing guidance of each of the offices. In addition, Shana coordinates national partnerships on behalf of the franchise system to enhance core services, provides daily support to ensure each business owner thrives, and spends time in the field visiting the offices to offer additional hands on education and support.
